90s

(This is not me in the 90s btw, it's just my general aura…)

Just when I thought I'd missed it, the 90s seems to be arriving again.
When all my favourite grunge bands seemed to have done their reunion tours already (Soundgarden, Alice In Chains-not strictly reunion of course, Courtney Love-again not really a reunion and actually it's great that she is still going cos fuck knows there is no other queen as up front as she is, Pearl Jam…ok so really the only reunion is Soundgarden. But that's kind of a big deal).
I just mean it seemed to be trending.
The 90s, that is.

H&M window currently looks like this..

And Miss Selfridge is selling this…

I went to a party and saw a girl with a chunky fringe, long sleeve black dress and boots. 90s much?
I have now seen TWO girls with full on undercuts. This is defo the 90s vibe again.
Time to ride the wave..

On that note, it's also time for a new wave. That new wave would be me moving to Tumblr. I've had an account forever that I never used. I have long hated this terribly formatted blogspot.
The new blog will hopefully mean more inspiration and easier posting etc. So I might actually use it a fair bit more. With the EP coming out in just over a week, we shall see!

Croydon riots and Judy Fights Back #tbt

In a very old office in a guitar shop somewhere in south london…
Ok, Croydon.
Here is something they didn't get in the riots. A little piece of history. The Judy Fights Back fridge magnet.

We gave these away at our first birthday bash. That was a gig we will all remember.
We were playing support to my ex boyfriends band at the time, and we wanted to make sure we marked out territory well! Full on emo intense show followed.
Throwback Thursday...

Tighter video

So part of the idea behind rereleasing my Winter EP is to give it some visuals this time.
I recently spent some time in the woods, in the rain with a go pro, and ended up with this shaky slightly Blair witch project style footage, and thought-well it's very 90s. And since i firmly believe in the 90s come back, here it is. A very dodgy video starring me getting lost and wet one afternoon.
To be released when the EP drops!

Mama Kin

 I heart you.

That is all.

John Butler and Mama Kin.

I cannot stress enough how much I love these two. How beautiful are they?
How talented are they? How fucking awesome is it that they have managed to stick together over the years, bringing up amazing children, and continuing to be creative?

Daniella, this goes out to you, your recent gig was amazing. Intimate. You are a sassy lady, and you got your shit together. Stopped waiting for the rescue. You rule.
That is all.

The Highs video

Working on a new video.
I'm going to be re-releasing the Winter EP later this year, but this time it will be available on iTunes and all that jazz, since people have complained they can't buy it on there (I prefer Amazon but whatevs) Bandcamp still gives independent artists the best deal of things so I will still make that my preferred site for sales. You also get to send lots of little promo items that way.

This vid for the Highs is going to be hard work, as I am filming and editing it on my tod. Yeah, just me, tripod and camera. Oh, and a bunch of dogs, old people, couples in love and children running around during takes. And hay fever. And bugs. And birds. It's brilliant really. It's going to be amaze balls.

Winter Video

So, it became a giant pain in the neck..
I filmed this with my buddy Kyle McCarty up Snowdonia in Seattle.
It was one of those last minute lightbulb moments I was having, trying to complete a bunch of things before I left the city.
We had problems with sound, setting and frozen fingers.
My vocal chords also suffered a bit. And after a bit of passing the buck, it was down to me to edit the damn thing, and I wasn't really sure what to do with the static shot that I had.
So I slept on it, kinda..
ok so I took a sleeping pill and edited the thing while I was not quite with it, and this is the result.

Life with the trees.

Quality tree time… in Hyde Park.

BUBBLE!!
(don't burst it)

Seth Lakeman #tbt

Throw Back Thursday-
when Seth Lakeman tried to steal my pen.
Brighton instore show.

I gave Seth some lyrics that day to my song "Storm".
The theme then popped up on his next album, in the guise of "Feather in a Storm".
I think this was a nice and gentle nod.
We'll meet again one day!
